  • Melissa Adams online counseling and therapist

    Melissa Adams

Melissa Adams, LCSW, LIMHP I provide individual, marital and family therapy in a private practice setting. My areas of specialty include family violence, recovery from abuse, anxiety disorders, behavior disorders in children and divorced and blended families. I have extensive training and experience in working with victims of domestic violence, their abusive partners, and children living in violent homes. I have worked as a court advocate for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent crimes. I have worked with children from ages 18 months to 19 years old, dealing with disruptive behaviors, anger problems, respect for authority and self esteem improvement. I have formal training in the areas of play therapy and behavior disorders, as well as trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy for children and adolescents. I have a special fondness for blended families. Having grown up in a large, blended family myself, I enjoy helping families work together toward healthy bonding and blending, while maintaining loving relationships with all parties involved. Many times, after the pain of divorce, it is especially challenging to incorporate all parents, step parents, siblings, half-siblings, step siblings, grandparents, and other extended family into a cohesive group that encourages all members to grow and be productive. Assisting families in creating their own unique family composition as they blend is truly a fantastic journey – one that I am pleased to be a part of for many families.

I have been married to Jann for 50 years. I love working with couples; couples in conflict; couples who want their marriages to blossom. With 15 years of pastoral leadership and chaplaincy, I have demonstrated a love for people wherever they my be in their human developmental or spiritual journey. I believe many Christians have yet to break the surface of who they are in Christ and what God intends for them to be and do to find their greatest fulfillment and have maximum impact for the Kingdom God in their small part of the planet. I listen and ask questions that enable the client(s) to hear and see more clearly how God has wired them and for what purpose. I believe the client can learn to lead in their recovery and growth. My job is to facilitate that process.

  • Jackie Meyer online counseling and therapist

My mission in life is to give hope to individuals and families struggling with past trauma resulting in children with seemingly unmanageable behavior and adults in despair. Not all clients fit this category. They may just need someone to visit with to get them through an immediate problem. Therefore I work with all ages and severity of issues. I speak and give workshops on a National level on Complex Trauma and Attachment. I help parents cope with their children's behavior. Everyone blames the parent for the out of control child. The child is often simply afraid and acts out . The parent may not know how to calm the child's fear driven brain. This has resulted in unmanageable behavior in both the parent and the child. I give hope. All is fixable.
