I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) interventions to promote good emotional health. I go beyond basic CBT by offering an integrated approach that is tailored to your unique needs. Treatment is brief and comprehensive so that you move forward quickly. I focus on specific identified problems and your strengths across multiple modalities-behavior, emotions, sensations, images, thoughts, interpersonal relationships and biological processes.This approach can reduce the negative emotional or behavioral influence of previous painful events, clearing the mind to encourage dramatic improvements in thoughts, feelings and behaviors. You do not have to dig into your past and over analyze everything that has ever happened to you unless that is helpful to you. You can quickly and effectively move forward away from emotional baggage to being clear and present to enjoy your life now. It is important to consider events that have occurred in your life, process them, take the needed information from them and make peace with that event so that you can be happy ad healthy moving forward with your current life. I treat adults, children and teens with depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, anger issues, stress, grief and loss, trauma, attention issues(ADD, ADHD), Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders, other mental health issues and interpersonal relationship issues. I will assist with symptom reduction and management in just a few sessions utilizing proven techniques and concepts. I believe that fulfilling and healthy relationships should be the norm not the exception. Amazing relationships can happen with the right guidance and direction. I have spent a significant amount of my career working with couples to improve and strengthen their relationships. For couples, I utilize CBT and the Gottman Therapy approach. I incorporate The Art and Science of Lovemaking from The Gottman Institute to enhance intimacy and sexual closeness. I work with couples that are dating, pre-marriage, during marriage and with couples and families who are going through a divorce. You can learn how to have and maintain great relationships along with a great sexual closeness to your partner. I assist you in identifying the relationship that you want and need. Working together, you identify your particular wants and needs to establish a detailed plan to develop the relationship that you desire. I help couples and families who have chosen to divorce minimize the negative impact on the family during the adjustment and transition to the impending lifestyle change. Support, mediation and counseling are offered to the couple and family throughout the divorce and beyond as needed. It is important to prevent and reduce the emotional expense that a divorce can have on children and parents.
